Farmers face many challenges, but if you have livestock, things can get especially difficult in the winter. ?❄️
Saturday, January 13th, after several storms made their way through Wisconsin our chicken coop roof collapsed. Farmer Ed had even cleared it off once after the really heavy snow fall! Fortunately, we only lost a few chickens. It could have been so much worse! However, we’ve had to establish a temporary home for them while we work to rebuild. Our chickies are understandably quite stressed and their egg production is down substantially. Therefore, we’ve decided to close the farm to egg sales until production rebounds.
Thank you for your understanding! We’ll let you know as soon as our chickies recover and we’re able to reopen (it’ll probably take up to a month ??).
Hope to see you back in the Patch soon!
